The website also records limited technical information needed to process the submission and prevent abuse, including the submission time, source website, and security-verification results.
How we use it
BTA uses this information to review and respond to your enquiry, assess whether an advisory relationship may be appropriate, protect the website, and maintain necessary business records. BTA does not sell personal information or use enquiry details for unrelated advertising.
Service providers
BTA uses Cloudflare to host and protect this website, verify legitimate form activity, store enquiries, deliver enquiry notifications, and transfer submitted enquiry details into BTA’s private CRM workspace for follow-up and business-record management. These services process information on BTA’s behalf. Service providers may process information outside Canada, where it may be subject to the laws of the jurisdiction in which it is processed.
Website analytics
BTA uses privacy-conscious first-party analytics and Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand website performance and prospective client interest. The first-party records may include approximate city, region and country; an inferred network or likely organization; referral and campaign source; browser, operating system, device category, screen-size category and language; page titles, pages and sections viewed; scroll depth, session duration, staged engagement time and use of key website actions. Cloudflare may also provide an automated-traffic likelihood signal. BTA uses these observations to summarize session journeys and levels of apparent interest. Network, organization, automation and interest classifications are technical inferences and may be inaccurate.
Anonymous sessions
BTA assigns a random identifier only for the current browser session and retains Cloudflare request identifiers that can be used by authorized BTA personnel to investigate related traffic or security information within Cloudflare when warranted. When an enquiry is submitted, that session identifier may be linked to the enquiry so BTA can understand the pages, sources, and interactions that preceded it. BTA does not place an analytics cookie or create a persistent visitor profile, and its own analytics records do not store raw IP addresses, exact device dimensions, or full referral URLs. This information is used to evaluate prospective interest and improve the website, not for unrelated advertising.
Sharing
Information may be shared with service providers that support this website, with trusted professional expertise when necessary and appropriate for your enquiry, or when required by law. BTA does not disclose your information more broadly than needed for those purposes.
Retention and security
BTA keeps information only as long as reasonably necessary to respond, evaluate a potential engagement, maintain appropriate business records, and address security or legal needs. It is then deleted or anonymized. Reasonable safeguards are used to protect information, although no online service can guarantee absolute security.
